James Henry Lane and Lanesfield


lanesfield_-_robert_collins_-small2Lanesfield was one of two Kansas towns named for James Henry Lane, a Kansas free state party leader.  Robert Collins, a Lane biographer, and Stephanie Clayton, site manager of Lanesfield School Historic Site, discuss Lane’s role in the development of the free state community of Lanesfield and in the 1856 Battle of Bull Creek.
