| History Alive! and Speakers Bureau programs
are available to Kansas non-profits who
- anticipate an adult, out-of school audience of at least
20 at their event, and
- will report their volunteer services and complete an
evaluation report.
Non-profits are limited to two History Alive! and two Speakers
Bureau programs per calendar year at regular booking fees.
Additional programs can be booked at full cost. Call
to discuss fees.
History Alive! and Speakers Bureau programs are available
to for-profits, colleges, and universities (but not for classroom
use) who
- pay fees covering program costs, and
- will complete a short evaluation report.
Speakers Bureau booking fees are
- $50 non-profit regular
- $100 for 3 programs from Better Together: Ethnic Communities
section
- $125 non-profit conference/with admission/fundraiser
- $250 for-profit/college/university.

To book a speaker, follow these steps:

CONTACT the speaker directly. Speakers will
travel statewide, unless they specify limitations. CONFIRM
the date, time and location, then discuss program length
allowing time for discussion (usually 40-60 minutes total).
Ask about EQUIPMENT NEEDS. Programs may have
audio visual as noted in catalog program description.

PRINT out a copy of our booking request form and mail/fax
to KHC. To qualify for regular booking fees, forms
must be received at least 5 weeks before the program date.

RUNNING LATE? KHC will accept late requests
3-4 weeks before program with a $25 late fee.

WAIT FOR CONFIRMATION. KHC responds to regular
requests by mail within 2 weeks. Late requests receive a phone
call of confirmation within 2 days. KHC will send a photograph
and biography of your speaker to use in publicity.

ANNOUNCE KHC sponsorship in all publicity
and at the program.

Then after the program, COMPLETE a short evaluation
form and simple report of volunteer services. KHC pays
directly to speaker his/her honorarium and travel.
