Alf Landon, Kansas Governor
Popular
Kansas governor Alf Landon (1887-1987) was the underdog who lost
to FDR in a landslide in the presidential race of 1936.
Over the next five decades, his moderate political views won him
wide respect and the role of Kansas's senior statesman. Landon speaks
from 1952 on the issues then facing the nation, including the Eisenhower
presidential campaign.
