Democracy Dialogs Project Receives KHC Grant

TOPEKA – The Kansas Humanities Council awarded $2,000 to
the Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy at Kansas State
University in support of Democracy Dialogs 2006: Freedom of
Information: Principles, Laws, and Citizen Use.
Democracy Dialogs is a series of facilitated public discussions
on freedom of information. Topics for discussion include the Freedom
of Information Act, its philosophical foundations and historical
context. The public dialogues will occur in four public libraries
in Kansas: Manhattan Public Library, Pioneer Memorial Library in
Colby, Dorothy Bramlage Public Library in Junction City, and the
West Wyandotte branch of the Kansas City Kansas Public Library.
Programs begin in September, 2006.
